This is us!

Married 32 years.

4 sons who have all grown up and left the nest.

4 stunning daughter-in-loves who have joined the tribe.

8 grandchildren, and another on the way, that have turned our resolute disciplined ways to mush.

Lovers of Jesus and committed to following Him however and wherever He leads!

This Was Us!

When Brian was 17 he followed God’s leading to the humid jungles of Papua, New Guinea. During a summer missions trip God invited him to trade in his dream of being a Navy pilot for the challenge of becoming a bush pilot to help reach the remote people groups of the earth.

Susan was on that same trip, following God’s voice that had begun whispering to her at 7 years old. The invitation was to lay her life in His hands and let her years be used to reach those who have no witness of Jesus. 17 might seem too young for anyone to make a decision like that. But it’s not ;-)

Finding each other that Summer was a priceless gift. We fell in love following the voice of a Relentless Savior.

We married 3 years later and set out to pursue Him together. Four sons joined us on the journey, who grew into men, married, brought us grandchildren and all have become friends along the way.

Don’t get us wrong, we have “rumbled”, we have hurt each other deeply, loved each other poorly and loved ourselves too much. We have fallen…and we have stood back up. The One who set us up when we were 17 told us His name was Relentless, and then He said we were made in His image. Scandalous. He is Relentless love, in constant pursuit of the lost and broken in mind/heart/body and spirit.

He offered to put that relentless love and hope in us. It was an offer we could not refuse.

He invited us to follow Him in this relentless pursuit. We said “yes”.

This turned into 15 years of serving as missionaries in Papua, Indonesia. Our sons loved growing up in the jungle! We spent 6 months tucked in there helping an organization in Uganda, serving as children’s home directors for an orphanage. There have been short term trips to Iraq and Vietnam added in there too.

As our sons grew Susan slowly pursued and completed her Doctorate in Pastoral counseling. As we asked Him for direction for our marriage and hearts now that our children were grown, He invited us to a ministry of reconciliation. Brian stepped out of the technical world and back into school for a counseling degree that is still in porcess. We have a passion for the reconciliation of families, marriages and hurting individuals who are living and working around this world, serving in ministry or humanitarian arenas. Our deepest yearning is to see the name of Jesus and His relentless love and healing reach those who don’t have access to it…and there are still so many who have never heard!!
